The work involves construction of a 574 m long sewer pipe underground from Sylvan Road to Lissner Street.

Queensland Urban Utilities said the project will primarily use underground techniques including microtunnelling, with entry and exit shafts for the tunnel boring machine being excavated at intervals along the project route.

The work will be carried out in four stages over an eight month period, with each stage taking around two months to complete.

The project will ensure that the sewer system matches the pace of residential and commercial development in Toowong.
