South East Water was awarded the 2010 Asia Pacific Regional Award for Small Projects at the International Water Association awards held in Singapore.
The project made use of Trenchless Technology to reduce any community disturbance, with directional drilling in the Flinders township carried out by BTB Australia and Blaxland Pacific (now Apex Boring). This included the use of HDD to minimise environmental impact.
South East Water Managing Director Shaun Cox said, “This project was supported by strong community feedback as the most sustainable solution.”
The project integrated resourceful solutions in order to implement a lengthy transfer system over undulating ground. In order to optimise the sewerage network, Dynamic Hydraulic Modelling was used for rapid design.
