Speaking to The Australian, Mr Young said water providers will use up to four times as much electricity as they move from dams to desalination plants, the cost of which will be reflected in water prices across Australia.

Mr Young was also a speaker at the Trenchless Australasia conference held in Melbourne last September where he spoke to delegates about the changes experienced by the water industry in recent years.
