A new sewer pipeline installed with horizontal directional drilling beneath the Anglesea River, Victoria, is fully operational after a major replacement project.

The project was completed on 22 December 2011, ahead of its Christmas deadline, by contractor Dunstans Wangaratta.

A horizontal drilling drill was utilised to bore the 330 m, 315 mm outside diameter pipe under the river bed. The pipeline was laid out and welded together along Bingley Parade before being drawn through a pre-drilled tunnel beneath the Anglesea River.
